Mangaluru, Dec 2: The High Court of Karnataka has denied the bail application of the prime accused in Sullia fake stamp paper scam.

At this point, the Sullia court granted bail to the second accused on the grounds that she was a woman and denied the bail application of the main accused BV Keshava Bhat.
Thereafter, he had applied for bail in the Puttur Sessions court and was again denied bail on September 18.
When the accused applied for bail in the high court, it was contended that he should not be released on bail since the case was grave in nature and also involved swindling from the state government's finances.
Hence, high court judge Justice Chandrashekhar observed that bail should be denied to the main accused Keshava Bhat until the final chargesheet was submitted by the CID investigation team.
