Led by the Indian Coast Guard, essential security has been tightened in the Gangolli port in Udupi district and surrounding areas. The police department has increased vigilance and begun conducting an inspection of all fishing boats and vessels approaching the Gangolli port.
The police have also issued instructions to all fishermen to immediately inform the nearest police station if they notice any suspicious persons or vessels near the coast or at sea.
According to police sources, precautionary measures have been deployed in the areas around Gangolli port, after intelligence reports revealed the infiltration of two suspicious boats in Indian waters in the backdrop of notorious underworld terrorist Chota Rajan’s arrest and extradition to the country.
