CWC President Asha Nayak, officer Gracy Gonsalves and others raided the residence of the teacher at Krishnapura.
The complaint was that the teacher has deployed two primary students to pick and peel arecanuts. Though the teacher and her husband denied the allegations, they later said that they had kept the kids with them as their parents were not economically sound to give them education.
The children are from Bijapur and over the telephonic conversation with Ms Nayak the children agreed that they have been living with the couple and have been working at home after school. The parents of the children are daily wage workers at Bunder. The parents have been living the kids with the teacher whenever they visit their native.
Ms Nayak said that the teacher is wrong in employing the children hence a notice will be issued to her and then the next course of action will be decided.
She said that they will visit the school on Friday and check for the attendance of the kids. “We will have a talk with the parents too and make a move which will be in favour of the kids,” Ms Nayak said.
