Bengaluru, May 9: In a bizarre incident, three Manipuri students in the City were arrested on Thursday, for killing their pet dog to consume it. The incident took place at Subhash Nagar in KR Puram on Tuesday night.

The complainant Raj Gowda, an event manager in a private company said, “On Tuesday night, they killed their pet dog Marley, aged around six to seven months, skinned it out and were seen roasting it by a neighbour.”
Trio questioned
“The neighbour, who did not wanted to be named, questioned the trio, who said that the dog tried to bite one of them and they hit the dog with a stick and it died. Not satisfied with the explanation, the neighbour informed few others in the surrounding about the incident. On seeing a crowd, the trio disposed of the dog’s body in a nearby lake in a hurry,” he added.
Meanwhile, a few persons in the crowd had taken pictures of the half baked dog and posted them on Facebook. On Thursday, as the news spread, Gowda approached the police station and lodged a complaint. The trio were booked under IPC Section 428 (mischief by killing or maiming animal), said the police.
