A day after he accused Karnataka PWD minister through his unverified twitter account of having a nexus with road contractors, Senior Congress leader M Veerappa Moily has deleted the controversial tweet and claimed that he never made any allegations against any party leader.

The Chikkaballapura MP, who is also Congress’ manifesto committee chairman in poll-bound Karnataka, on Thursday, March 15, tweeted: “INC needs to solve money in politics. We can’t afford to have road contractors and their nexus with the state PWD minister determine how candidates are selected for the upcoming assembly elections.”
Moily had also tagged AICC President Rahul Gandhi in his tweet. Within minutes Moily’s son Harsha Moily copied the entire tweet and pasted on his unverified twitter account instead of re-tweeting it.
The tweet apparently takes a dig at Public Works Minister H C Mahadevappa, a close associate of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
However, on Friday senior Moily claimed that it was not he who posted such a tweet. “I don’t know how this happened. Neither me, nor my son would speak against the party in a public forum like Twitter. I will get to the bottom of how it happened,” he was quoted as saying by a TV channel. The controversial tweets have since been deleted from the twitter accounts of both Veerappa and Harsha Moily.

According to sources, both Moily and Mahadevappa have been lobbying for the party tickets for their sons from different constituencies in looming assembly polls. Mahadevappa had reportedly asked Siddaramaiah not to field Harsha Moily in the polls this time.
