Mangaluru, Dec 12: Trouble mongers pelted stones at a few buses belonging to Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation at Farangipete in Bantwal taluk when people were gearing up for the launch of a harmony walk on Tuesday morning.

Passengers of a Rajhamsa bus had a narrow escape when some of the stones pelted by the miscreants entered inside the bus through windows.

Dakshina Kannada district in-charge minister B Ramanath Rai, who later launched the harmony walk, said that miscreants belonging to communal forces tried to create tension in the town by damaging public properties.

He urged the police to nab the culprits and take necessary actions against them. Meanwhile, police have stepped up security measures in Farangipete and other areas of Bantwal taluk.
