Davangere, Jun 15: Two persons were killed on the spot and 27 others sustained injures when a Government bus, in which they were travelling, fell into a tank near Byladhalli village in Harihar taluk in Davangere district here on Sunday.

With 28 passengers on-board, the bus was on the way to Hubballi from Shivamogga via Harihar. The details of the deceased is yet to be ascertained.
The injured are being treated at the Government Hospital while the seriously injured have been admitted to Davangere Government Hospital. According to eye-witnesses, the rash and negligent driving of the bus driver caused the accident.
The bus was removed from the tank by using four cranes and there was no delay in the rescue operations and removing the bus as the tank had little water. MLA H.S. Shivshankar, Superintendent of Police Borlingaiah and rural DYSP Namegouda visited the spot.
