Bantwal, Aug 12: Two persons were taken into custody by Bantwal rural police in connection with alleged revenge murder case of Rifayi, an autorickshaw driver, who is the brother of a murder accused near Maripalla, Bantwal taluk.

The duo were taken into custody on the suspicion that they helped to hatch the conspiracy.
Two teams led by Bantwal Circle Inspector Belliyappa and Rural SI Nagaraj have been formed to investigate the case. They have launched the man hunt to nab four prime accused in the case.
24-year-old Rifayi's body was found with slash marks in a stream at Netharekere on August 10.
After he did not return home around 7 p.m. on August 9, the family of Rifayi, a resident of Pudu village, found his autorickshaw parked near Netharekere, said Bantwal rural police. However, on Sunday morning, his body was found by a stream with injury marks to his head, hands, legs and torso, said the police.
The police suspected that the murder to be linked to the murder of history sheeter Noushad who was hacked to death by six persons in Maripalla on June 21, 2014.
Mr. Rifayi's younger brother Tausif was arrested as the main accused in the case. “There are two gangs that are clashing now. With Tausif in jail, perhaps, the men chose Rifayi as an easy target,” said the police.
Third victim!
This is the third reported murder involving the gangs, said the police, the genesis of which was the stabbing of Nooruddin by three of his friends – including Naushad – in January 2012.
Locals say that Rifayi was very silent and honest auto rickshaw driver in the vicinity. He had never involved in any of the disputes. Police also confirmed that Rifayi did not have any criminal background.
Pregnant wife
Rifayi was married just six month ago. Now, his wife is four months pregnant. With his death, a pall of gloom descended on his native.
