Mangalore, Sep 5: Amidst the fresh tension in Ullal and surrounding areas following Wednesday's stabbing incident, Mangalore City Police Commissioner R Hitendra has transferred three police officers from the Ullal Police Station.
Reliable sources said that Ullal police inspector Dharmendra and sub-inspectors Ramesh Hanapur and Satish Kumar were transferred to the commissionerate, here, on temporary basis.
Panambur police sub-inspector Bharati and Rajendra from Suratkal crime branch have been posted temporarily in Ulllal, sources said.
Reward to the informer
Meanwhile, Karnataka Health and Family Welfare Minister U T Khader has declared to offer cash reward to the person who informs the identity of culprits who assaulted two youth at Ullal on Wednesday night. Assuring of not revealing the identity of the informer, he said that he would give the reward amount to the informer voluntarily and not on behalf of the government.
Expressing concern over the increased number of murder attempt incidents in Ullal limits, Khader requested general public not to lend ears to communal forces that are trying to spoil peace in the town, rather co-operate with police to nab the culprits.
“The assault took place on Wednesday within two km radius of Ullal police station which suggests that culprits are not bothered about law. I have directed the police commissioner to take steps to alter the police set-up so as to avoid any criminal activities. The police have been asked to controlling menace which is the reason for increased anti-social elements,” the Health Minister said.
