Ullal, Aug 20: In connection with the murder attempt on a bakery owner in Ullal, sleuths from the jurisdictional Ullal police have arrested two more persons including the prime accused and another member from his gang, bringing the total count of arrested persons to five.

The prime accused Fayaz (29), resident of Jamal Quarters in Manchila and Ummar Noufal (26) have been arrested.
Earlier, on August 11, the police had arrested three accused Arfan alias Arfa, Saifullasan alias Saifu and Haneef alias Ibrahim in connection with the case.
On August 8, Fayaz and five members of his gang attempted to murder the owner of a bakery in Mastikatte named Abdul Salam with swords. Abdul Salam sustained grave injuries in the encounter and was admitted to a private hospital in Mangaluru. The police had registered a case of attempted murder against the accused.
Previously, Abdul Salam had lodged a complaint against Fayaz and his gang who caused a nuisance to customers at his bakery by smoking ganja and indulging in other immoral activities next to the bakery. In retaliation to this, Fayaz and his gang had smashed the windows of Abdul Salam's house.
On August 8, the accused attacked and attempted to murder Abdul Salam as an act of revenge for the same reason.
Prior to this case, prime accused Fayaz has 14 cases against him at Ullal police station, out of which two have been resolved.
