
Mangalore, Dec 9: Undivided Dakshina Kannada district is all set to enter the 'Guinness book of world records' with over 75,000 youth performing yoga in 50 centres at a time on December 11.
Announcing this at a press conference here on Monday minister for forest, ecology and environment , B Ramanath Rai said that under the aegis of Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheswara Yoga and Moral Education Project Shanthivana Trust, Shri Kshethra Dharmasthala and department of public instruction organised 'Yoga for future' to create Guinness record in yoga. Yoga is scheduled to perform by youth and school children in Udupi and Dakshina Kannada district at a time, he said.
More than 75,000 youth will perform Yoga on December 11 in 30 centres in Udupi and 20 centres in Dakshina Kannada district. On the day Yoga will be started at 10 am at all the centres for 30 minutes, he said.
Master Kishan, youngest film director is the brand ambassador for the event.
Minister for health and family welfare U T Khader said that introduction of Yoga in schools has helped the students immensely.
He said that Ullal is all set to receive a 9 bed capacity Unani and Ayurveda health centre soon.
He said government had sectioned one primary Unani and Ayurveda health centre to Ullal. The centre will be constructed at a cost of Rs 9.5 crore.
