Mangaluru, Oct 31: UT Khader, Minister for Health and Family Welfare has said that he too received a call from underworld don Ravi Poojary, but it was not a threat call.

Mr Khader said that the gangster had told him that he (Khader) was doing good work and urged him not to associate with fundamentalist forces.
The TV channel had received a call on Friday from a person claiming to be Ravi Poojary, who confirmed that he had made the recent threat call to Minister of State for Fisheries Abhayachandra Jain over the murder of a Bajrang Dal activist in Dakshina Kannada district.
As per the audio clipping telecast by the TV channel, the caller also warned two other Ministers from Dakshina Kannada district – B. Ramanath Rai and U.T. Khader – of consequences if they had any role in the murder.
S. Murugan, Mangaluru city Police Commissioner said that he is yet to get complete details about Friday’s call. However, all measures required for the safety of the Ministers will be taken, he said.
Meanwhile, the Udupi district police has asked the TV channel to produce the audio clippings of the reported call made by underworld operative Ravi Poojary, for verification process.
