Karwar, Feb 8: Ravindra Ramachandra Hegde, of Yelagodmane in Uttara Kannada district, has entered the Limca Book of World Records (LBWR) by weaving a mat blindfolded within four hours using plastic packing strips.

During his leisure hours, Ravindra started weaving mats of various sizes by collecting waste plastic strips used for packing as a hobby for more than 10 years now.
He has woven more than 1,000 mats on demand by agriculturists from Uttara Kannada and the neighbouring districts.
He used to weave mats in the dark, during power failure, and it helped him weave mats blind-folded.
A video of him weaving a mat blind-folded was sent to the Limca Book of World Records and recently, he received a certificate of confirming the entry in records, according to report on Sunday.
