Municipal Administration Minister Ramesh Jarkiholi said on Saturday that he had prayed for a “special gift from God” and till it was granted, he would not attend Cabinet meetings.

Despite repeated queries, he did not reveal what his prayer was. He clarified, however, that he was not upset with his portfolio.
“I will work in any ministry. Even if I am given the library department, I will do my job as a Minister,” he told presspersons in Belagavi after attending a Karnataka Development Programme review meeting in the zilla panchayat.
“I have not attended the last five Cabinet meetings. I am not using the official vehicle to move around. I am not availing the service of my personal assistants allotted by the government either. I will do all that once my wish comes true,” he said.
