Mangaluru, Oct 28: After the discovery of worms in a burger served to a couple at a KFC outlet in the city, UT Khader, Health and Family Welfare Minister, has warned the outlet of legal action.

Taking cognisance of the shocking complaint alleging live worms found in a Zinger burger sold at the City Centre Mall outlet of popular fast-food restaurant chain KFC in Mangaluru, Mr Khader said that he would instruct the Food and Safety Department to serve a legal notice to the outlet on Thursday.

Speaking to reporters at the sidelines of a programme here on Wednesday, he said that such negligence of food standards was not acceptable, especially in a multi-national fast-food joint which charged high prices for their food items. It will not be taken lightly, he said.

He informed that he would direct the concerned department to take action in this regard and serve a notice to the particular outlet.
