The writers said, “Mr Bhat has been making unceasing efforts through his writings and utterances to safeguard the values of secularism and respect for the multi-faceted culture of our country – the values enshrined in our Constitution. He has been educating the people on the inhuman practices prevalent in the various religions. He has fearlessly exposed the disastrous anti-social activities of the communal forces. He has always upheld the dignity of the Indian women. Those who disagree with his way of thinking could always call for an open dialogue or could record their dissent vide their writings. But by resorting to such physical attacks and threats they have laid bare their own intellectual poverty. It is also an indication of the fascist route our society is taking.”
