Mangaluru, Nov 9: UT Khader, the Minister for Health and Family Affairs, has termed the landslide victory of Grand Alliance in Bihar Assembly polls as the triumph of truth over falsehood.
He said that the people of Bihar upheld the culture of the country by defeating BJP and its allies led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“Truth and self-respect prevailed in Bihar. People have sent a strong message and taught a message to BJP,” he said.
Change in mood: Oscar Fernandes
Responding to Bihar election results, Oscar Fernandes, Rajya Sabha member, said that there was a change in the mood of people in the country when compared to that prevailing during the 2014 parliamentary elections.
The people had realised that the promises made to them by the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the parliamentary elections were hollow. Mr. Modi had failed to check inflation, he said and added that the prices of pulses and onions had gone through the roof.
Modi Popularity declining: Sorake
Vinay Kumar Sorake, Urban Development Minister, said on Sunday that the victory of the Grand Alliance in the Bihar Assembly elections showed that the popularity of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi was declining.
Speaking to presspersons here, Mr. Sorake said that the main reason for the decline in Mr. Modi’s popularity, besides failing to live up to his promises made during the 2014 parliamentary election campaign, was the increase in the incidents of intolerance throughout the country.
Mr. Modi had won the Lok Sabha elections on the plank of development. But he did not concentrate on it. Instead there were several incidents of communal disharmony and intolerance. The contradictory and confusing statements of his ministers and his party leaders only added to the problem. “Mr. Modi made every attempt to woo the electorate in Bihar including announcing a special package. But the voters in Bihar have rejected them totally,” he said.
The impact of the Bihar verdict would be felt all over the country, he added.
