Kasaragod, Apr 11: A Gulf based Indian Muslim business tycoon has set an example by announcing a massive compensation to the kin of the victims of the fireworks tragedy at the Puttingal Devi temple in Kerala's communally sensitive Kollam district.

ali
Yusuff Ali MA, the Managing Director of Abu Dhabi-headquartered EMKE LuLu Group of companies, has come forward to provide Rs 1 lakh each as compensation to the family of the deceased and Rs 50,000 to the injured.

The announcement comes even as government of India announced Rs 2 lakh each as compensation to the family of the deceased and Rs 50,000 to those injured.

The generosity shown by Mr Yusuff Ali, who belongs to Nattika in Thrissur district of Kerala is likely to make a positive impact on Kollam society, wherein extremist Hindutva elements had been disrupting peace in recent days.

In one of the worst tragedies to hit Kerala, nearly 110 people were killed and around 380 injured in the major fire that engulfed the 100-year-old Puttingal Devi Temple complex during a display of fireworks, for which no permission had been granted by the authorities.

It is worth mentioning here that a Hindutva group had called Kollam District Collector A Shainamol, an “anti-Hindu” and “Muslim extremist” for denying permission to hold fireworks display at the temple.

The costliest tragedy due firework, will all Indians think not to repeat it anywhere.

If anyone does not learn lesson from this incident, would be the worst creature including all those who don't prevent him to do so.

This is being practiced not only by Hindus, also people from other religions.
The great tribute for the deceased will be whoever determines not to repeat nor to play the fireworks again.

Why dont hindutuva saviours cheddi never give any compensation ... they only make bow bow... and BEG the govt to give compensation and never help in times of social needs..
They only know destruction of Society
They only know to disrupt the society
They only give hate speeches and kill the society
They only know to create troubles in the society
People should recognize such elements and oppose their evil agenda.
Recognise the good and bad and stop supporting the evil.

Mangaluru police have arrested a 27-year-old NRI on his return from Saudi Arabia in connection with an Instagram post allegedly containing derogatory and provocative remarks about the Hindu religion, officials said on Monday.

The accused, Abdul Khader Nehad, a resident of Ulaibettu in Mangaluru, was working in Saudi Arabia when the post was uploaded, police said.

A suo motu case was registered at the Bajpe police station on October 11 after an allegedly offensive post circulated from the Instagram account ‘team_sdpi_2025’. Police said the content was flagged for being provocative and derogatory in nature.

During the investigation, technical analysis traced the Instagram post to Nehad, who was residing abroad at the time, a senior police officer said. Based on these findings, a Look Out Circular (LOC) was issued against him.

On December 14, Nehad arrived from Saudi Arabia at Calicut International Airport in Kerala, where he was taken into custody on arrival. Police said further investigation is underway.
