Mangalore, Aug 7: A two-year-old boy was grievously injured when a pack of street dogs attacked him outside his house at Moidin Nagara in Kudroli ward under Mangalore City Corporation limits on Thursday morning.
The baby has been identified Muhammad Imad, son of Imthiyaz and Badrunnisa.
According to family members of Imad, the boy had gone outside to play when the dogs pounced on him and bit him all over the body.
His condition is said to be critical and he was admitted at KMC hospital in Mangalore.
The dogs mauled the boy with such ferocity that his forehead, stomach and thigh parts were bleeding profusely.
The boy is being administered anti-rabies and immunoglobins injection, said the sources in the hospital.
Angered by the incident, people blamed the corportator of the ward for rising cases of stray dog attack on kids in the area in recent past. They demanded strict measures to control the menace.
