Mumbai, Sep 13: Abdul Wahid Shaikh, a teacher by profession, the only suspect in the 7/11 train blasts to be acquitted by the court, was released from the Arthur Road jail at 3 pm on Saturday.

Shaikh, an MA B Ed teacher employed at the Anjuman-e-Islam (Head quarters), was arrested nine years ago. The police had alleged that he had harobored the Pakistanis who had bombed the trains. The police could not prove its allegations.
After his acquital, Shaikh's lawyer requested the court to direct Anjuman-e-Islam to re-employ him.
After having a brief meeting with the Jamiat officials over a cup of tea, Shaikh left for his home in Mira Road. "I will talk to the media once I get the judgment copy in my hand," Shaikh reportedly told an office bearer. His wife is also a teacher in a western suburbs school and lives with their daughter and son at Mira Road.
