Mangalore, Apr 17: Deputy Commissioner and returning officer A B Ibrahim earlier has said that all polling personnel and electronic voting machines (EVMs) had been dispatched to their respective polling booths by Wednesday.
He said that 29 polling stations out of the total 1,766 stations in the DK constituency had been selected as model polling stations. In Sullia assembly constituency, there were 10 model polling booths, Bantwal - 5, Mangalore North - 5, Mangalore South - 2, Mangalore - 2, Moodbidri - 3 and Puttur - 2, he informed.
The two model polling stations in Mangalore South are located at Government Higher Primary School in Mannagudda (Middle Wing) and St Sebastian school at Bendoor, he added.
Feedback forms provided to presiding officers
In an innovative measure taken up by the district administration, presiding officers in each polling booth will be given a feedback form to get feedback from the polling personnel on their training programme, basic facilities provided in polling booths, transportation and accommodations and functioning of EVMs, he said.
Nearly 80 percent of buses have been withdrawn along the Kasargod route. Buses have not been withdrawn from routes where only single buses operate, he said.
