3 kids among 9 killed in 3 separate accidents

Bengaluru, Oct 20: Nine persons were killed in separate accidents near Devarabelakere in Harihar taluk in?Davangere district, near Madhurakhandi Cross in Jamakhandi taluk in Bagalkot district and near the railway station in Sedam in Kalaburagi district.

Three persons, including a three-year-old child of a family killed on the spot when the bike, in which they were travelling, was knocked down by an unidentified vehicle near Devarabelakere in Harihar taluk on Wednesday.

The deceased have been identified as Siddesh (35), his wife Geetha (30) and their son Darshan(3), residents of Bevinahalli .

Malebennur police are investigating the case.

Three persons died in a head on collision between a car and an autorickshaw near Madhurakhandi Cross near Jamakhandi-Kudachi Road late on Tuesday night.

The deceased are Shakeel Imamsab Rajannavar (35), his relatives Inayatulla Bandenawaz Kankanavadi (6) and Sadiya Bandenawaz Kankanavadi (4). Another relative Minaz Bandenawaz Kankanavadi has been seriously injured.

The police said the accident occurred when the car hit the Rampur-bound autorickshaw head on. Autoriksha driver Shakeel died on the spot.

The two children died when they were being taken to a hospital for treatment. The accused, Veeresh Gurushanthaiah Hiremath who was responsible for the accident, has fled the spot leaving the car behind.

In another incident, three persons, including a women, were killed after a train ran over them near Sedam railway station on Tuesday night.?The incident came to light on Wednesday morning.

The deceased have been identified as Bheemsha, 52, a resident of Kadalewada village in Sindagi taluk of Vijayapura district, Hajith, 52, a native of Bihar and Lakshmi, 45, a resident of Kurakunta. All of them are said to be daily wage workers.

Wadi railway station CPI Lingappa Pujari and PSI Krishna Lamani have visited the spot.

Udupi, Dec 15: What was meant to be a post-pilgrimage gathering turned tragic in Padukere village of Brahmavar taluk, Udupi district, late Sunday night, when a clash among youths escalated into a fatal assault, leaving one man dead.

The victim has been identified as 30-year-old Santosh Mogaveera, a resident of Padukere.

According to preliminary information, the incident took place during a late-night drinking party involving a group of local youths who had recently returned after completing their pilgrimage to the Sabarimala shrine. An argument reportedly broke out among the group and soon escalated into a violent confrontation.

During the ensuing brawl, Santosh Mogaveera was allegedly assaulted and collapsed at the spot after sustaining serious injuries. He was rushed by local residents to a private hospital in Brahmavar, where doctors declared him dead.

On receiving information, senior police officials, including Brahmavar Circle Inspector Gopikrishna, Kota Police Sub-Inspector Praveen Kumar T, Station ASI Manthesh Jabagoudar, and head constables Pradeep and Ashok, visited the spot and conducted an inspection.

Police have taken four youths into custody in connection with the incident. A case has been registered at the Kota police station, and further investigation is underway to ascertain the exact sequence of events leading to the death.
