Chikkaballapur, Aug 4: Two brave boys rescued a 5-year-old girl from drowning by exhibiting great presence of mind at Appegowdanahalli village in Shidlaghatta taluk of Chikkaballapur district.
The incident took place on Thursday while Poorvika (5) was playing. She accidently slipped into a 9-foot sump near her house, where her neighbour Ganeshappa, is constructing a house.
6-year-old Satvik and 5-year-old Deepak, who were also with her, immediately rushed to her help. They both grabbed her hands and lifted her up from the sump. A frightened Poorvika fell unconscious after the incident.
On hearing the commotion, Poorvika’s grandmother, Uma, and Deepak's mother, Munirathnamma, rushed to the spot. Poorvika was given a first aid and is fine.
Poorvika stays with her grandmother, while her parents, Raviprasad and Anitha, reside at Devanahalli village.
