AAP to conduct ‘Bribe-free Managaluru’, ‘I am an Indian first’ campaigns

Mangaluru Dec 5: As part of Aam Aadmi Party’s Bribe-Free Karnataka campaign, the Dakshina Kananda unit of the party will be conducting a Bribe-Free Mangaluru campaign on Monday, Dec 7. Dayanand Kotian, President-Forum for Justice, will inaugurate this campaign at Sub Registrar office in the city at 10 a.m.

In a release issued here the party has requested all Mangalureans to get their work done in this office without paying any bribe in the offices of the sub-registrars and RTO on Dec 7. All AAP volunteers will be around in the office to assist the general public.

"Bribe free Karnataka" campaign was carried out for a week in October in sub-registrar and RTO offices of Koramangala, Rajajinagar, Indiranagar, Jayanagar Yelahanka in Bangalore. A veteran freedom fighter Shri HS Doreswamy inaugurated the Bribe free campaign in Bangalore. Later Mr Santosh Hegde –Retd Lokayuktha Judge and Mr. Prasanna – Off-spinner from Indian Test Cricket participated in this campaign.

The campaign has also been carried out in various districts including Ballari, Tumkuru, Belgaum, Shivamogga, Chikkaballapura, Hassan. The campaign has received tremendous support from the public and we have received. Public observed that the bribery activities reduced in the sub-registrar offices and middlemen were absent. While honest officials carried out their duties, many corrupt officials preferred to avail their leaves and thus stayed away from the offices.

We request all pro-people organizations, the media and concerned citizens to support this campaign towards the goal of Bribe Free Mangaluru.

‘I am an Indian First’

The AAP will also conduct “I am an Indian First” campaign at Lalbagh traffic signal arena on the same day at 4 p.m.

“A recent survey by an international organisation showed that 83% Indians said people should have freedom to practice religion of their choice. World average is only 74%. This clearly shows that Indians want to live in peace, unity and brotherhood. But some political parties and some groups with vested interest are creating disturbances for their own electoral gains. While religion plays a very important role in personal life, AAP feels religion has no place in public life,” stated the release.
