Bengaluru, Mar 28: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has reiterated that the creation of the Anti-Corruption Bureau will not have any impact on the functioning of the Lokayukta.

Speaking to presspersons at Harihar near here on Sunday, Mr. Siddaramaiah said that leaders with no knowledge about the bureau are misguiding people by issuing false statements.
He said that the aim of creating the bureau was to curb corruption and not weaken the Lokayukta.
“No steps have been taken to alter the Lokayukta… instead steps will be taken to further strengthen it. Recruitments for the bureau will be taken up shortly and the authorities concerned have been instructed to make preparations now,” he added.

The Deputy Commissioners and the Chief Executive Officers of the affected districts have been instructed to take action against officials who neglect drought relief works, he said.
