
It is learnt that the said newspaper carried a news report against the members of the organisation alleging them of attempting to rape a woman who was heading home after New Year celebration with her friends.
Editor of the local daily in question justified that the news they had published was not fake. He said the report was published after consulting the victim and considering the police version.
"But organisation is trying to allege that the published report was fake and standing by its argument the members of the organization burnt the newspaper bundles," he said.
Four arrested
R. Hithendra, Mangalore City Commissioner said in a press meet that four people had been arrested in connection to the assault on girl who was heading home after partying.
He said, after another version of the story had been published in a newspaper and the police were investigating both versions.
