Bengaluru, Sept 13: BJP National President Amit Shah has strictly instructed his party Legislators in Karnataka to restrain themselves from making any public statements, Opposition leader in the Legislative Assembly B S Yeddyurappa said today.
Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, BJP State President Yeddyurappa said Mr Shah had warned the party Legislators against making public statements on any subject which may damage the image of the party.
"Don't make any statement that may hamper the party's prospectus in the next Lok Sabha elections," he said.
Mr Shah's direction comes in the wake of news spread about BJP allegedly trying to pull down JDS-Congress coalition government headed by Chief Minister H D Kuamraswamy by utilising disgruntled Legislators in both the party.
Mr Yeddyurappa asserted that, "I am not trying to pull down this government, the allegations are far from truth.
