Bengaluru, Sept 18: BJP veteran and union minister for parliamentary affairs and chemicals and fertilizers HN Ananth Kumar, who is receiving treatment in United Kingdom, is likely to be shifted to the United States for further treatment, according to media reports.
Kumar, the 5-term MP, who represents Bengaluru South constituency, has been staying at his relatives’ house in London for last two weeks for treatment purpose.
Earlier rumours were doing rounds that Kumar is diagnosed with advanced stage of pancreatic cancer. However, his office in Bengaluru has rubbished the rumours as baseless and said that he is doing good and will be returning to the country in the next fortnight.
For the last three months there were talks in political and bureaucratic circles that Kumar is unwell. He has been out of action for the last few weeks and not attending to office or signing files.
Kumar had a serious coughing problem prior to the Karnataka assembly elections in May this year and was scheduled to undergo treatment soon after the elections. With the Jayanagar constituency bypoll and the no confidence motion in Parliament against Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government, he had to postpone the treatment.
