Mangaluru, Nov 4: UT Khader, the minister for health and family welfare, was conferred with a national award by the government of India for the outstanding service of health department Karnataka under his leadership.

The award was presented by the Union Minister for Finance and Information and Broadcasting Mr Arun Jaitely on the occasion of International Day for Persons with Disabilities, i.e. on December 3 in New Delhi.
The award by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment carries a cash prize of Rs. 1 lakh and a citation.
The award was presented to Mr Khader’s department under the best employer category for providing as many as one hundred Group D Jobs to leprosy cured persons, with Grade-2 deformity in a single calendar year.
