Newsroom, May 31: A week of launching its SIM cards, Baba Ramdev’s Patanjali has now launched a new instant messaging mobile application by the name of 'Kimbho'.
Kimbho is reportedly a Sanskrit word and according to Patanjai’s spokesperson SK Tijarawala, it means "How are you? or What's new?"
As per reports, the new app by the Yoga guru's company aims to compete with WhatsApp as India's own messaging platform. "Now Bharat will speak. After launching SIM cards, Baba Ramdev has launched a new messaging application called Kimbho. Now Whats App will be given competition. Our own #SwadeshiMessagingplatform. Download it directly from Google Play store," Tijarawala tweeted.
The Kimbho app was made live on Wednesday. As the Google Play Store description of the app reads, Kimbho is meant for "Private and Group chat with Free Phone and Video Calling." The app enables exchanging content in the form of "Text, Audio, Photos, Videos, Stickers, Quickies, Location, GIF, Doodle and more."
About the app, iOS App Store reads as, "Kimbho is a real time messaging app. Kimbho empowers private group chat with free phone and video calling. It has dozens of amazing features to share text audio, photos, videos, stickers, quickies, location, GIF, Doodle and more."
However, the Kimbho app has suddenly disappeared from Google Play Store. This mysterious disappearance is as yet unexplained.
