Mangaluru, Apr 5: Condemning alleged attack on a few policemen during a protest organised by the Popular Front of India activists in Mangaluru on Tuesday, Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal have demanded an immediate ban on the PFI.

Mangaluru city police chief M Chadra Sekhar has said that around a dozen policemen have suffered injuries due to stone pelting and attack by the protesters. However, PFI and SDPI have brushed aside the allegation and called it a ‘ploy’ to book the ‘peaceful’ protesters.
Meanwhile, in a release issued here, Sharan Pumpwell, the regional convenor of the Bajrang Dal, said that the state government should declare PFI as an illegal outfit.
Calling the alleged attack on police by protesters as an anti-social act, he said that VHP-Bajrang Dal condemned it and also demand strong action against the miscreants.
He said that the PFI activists protest in Mangaluru was similar to the agitations being held in Jammu and Kashmir where “terrorist outfits” have continuously been attacking police and para-military forces.
Anti-National activities by PFI are on the rise in the region and hence, it should be banned, Mr. Pumpwell demanded.
