Bengaluru: Dec 22: Members of the Bank Employees Federation of India, Karnataka, have decided to stage a dharna at 6.30 pm near Town Hall in Bengaluru on Thursday, protesting the way the Centre is implementing the demonetisation scheme.

“The Centre and the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) should have made proper preparations before announcing the scheme. The existing four note printing presses have a limited capacity. Hence, people are unlikely to get relief in the near future,” he said.
Federation general secretary M R Shenoy said the RBI should take measures to ensure that all banks maintain transparency in their transactions in the wake of seizure of unaccounted money by the Income Tax department. “People have begun to suspect that bank employees are responsible for the currency crunch. But the fact is that banks will not have any clue about how much cash they would receive the next day.
The RBI has messed up the scheme,” he charged.
