Udupi, Nov 3: The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) filed the preliminary charge sheet in the businessman Bhaskar Shetty murder case, in the chief judicial magistrate court here on Wednesday.
All the three have been charged under Section 302 (punishment for murder)?and other provisions of the Indian Penal Code. Marbaniang said that the investigation into murder would continue and more charges would be slapped on the accused, if need be.
Giving details of the gory crime, the SP?said that on July 28, when Shetty came out of the bathroom, his wife and son sprayed pepper powder on him and hit him with an iron rod. Later, his hands and legs were tied and he was forced to drink poison.
Shetty was later drowned in the bathtub.?He was subsequently shifted to a garage where he was made to drink pesticide. Shetty's body was burnt in theHoma Kunda' (a pit for ritual fire) and the bones were thrown into a river.
The SP?said that the case was a complicated one and the charge sheet comprises substantive technical and expert evidences. He said a DNA?report had already been submitted into the court.
