Bhatkal, Nov 24: The Uttara Kannada district police have made it clear that Adnan Hasan Damudi, a resident of Bhatkal town who was reportedly detained by the Dubai police recently for his alleged links with the ISIS, was not wanted in any case in Karnataka.

Unconfirmed reports say that he was arrested three months ago in Dubai and has been in police custody since then. A senior police said that police here do not have any details of the arrest of Adnan in Dubai as the central agencies like RAW, IB and CBI coordinate such matters with the foreign agencies.

Police said they cannot react to media reports unless they got authentic information about his arrest. Police in Bhatkal have begun to collect information about him only after the news of his arrest came in.

Adnan, a resident of Nawayat colony in Bhatkal, completed his graduation in Commerce from Karnataka University Dharwad in 2003. Later he left for Dubai and worked as an accountant before joining the World Trade Center as assistant delivery coordinator.

The repeated arrests of the residents of Bhatkal in different foreign countries over terror links have worried the local police and the residents as well.
