
Speaking to mediapersons here on Friday, he said that the Congress had made attempts to mislead the voters by leveling personal attacks on BJP Lok Sabha candidate or party leaders such as Narendra Modi. The Congress was also trying divide the voters by engaging in caste politics before the election, he said, pointing that this did not change the attitude of voters who wanted a change in the governance of the country.
The Modi wave has helped in creating enthusiasm among the voters and will pave way for the party's win in the LS elections, he said, adding that first-time voters were largely swayed towards a better India under Modi's leadership.
He said that the overall polling percentage in the district would have crossed 80 percent, if the names of those who had been transferred or had died would have been deleted from the voters list.
“With record polling in Sullia and Puttur assembly, the BJP is confident of winning in the constituency. What the BJP had experienced in the previous assembly polls, will be experienced by the Congress in the LS polls owing to the failure of UPA government,” he said.
