
On the backdrop of rumours stating that alleged Indian Mujahideen leader Yaseen Bhatkal had allegedly stayed in Mangalore for several months and the recent incident of arrest of Ayisha Banu and Zubair couple, the District Executive resolved to keep forth the demand.
The party has also demanded strengthening of Coast Guards so as to keep a check on terror activities in the region along with appointment of special officers to the local stations.
Anti-Superstition Bill
On the backdrop of the proposed Anti-Superstition Bill, the party leaders have said that while the BJP does not support the superstitious practices, attack on religious beliefs by considering them as superstition is wrong.
“The government is out to attack the very foundation of Hinduism by succumbing to some pressure. The people should not be hijacked of their right to religion in the name of the Act,” the party leaders have opined.
Dakshina Kannada District Committee has urged the state government to hold deliberation with the leaders of various religions on the Anti-Superstition Bill.
