Mangaluru, Dec 1: In terms of number of members Bharatiya Janata Party will emerge world's largest political party within a few months, said BJP National General Secretary Muralidhara Rao.

Addressing media persons in the city on Monday Mr Rao said that the nationwide membership drive campaign launched by the RSS backed party after Amit Shah took over as president has been inching towards a great success. “The verification will begin after March 31, 2015,” he said.

Revealing that over one crore members have already enrolled in the campaign so far he said that the party intends to establish itself as the largest political party in the world, even beating Communist Party of China in membership after March 31.

He said that the BJP cadres across the country would intensify the campaign and would go to the doorsteps of the people.

He said that except BJP, most of the political parties in India have become family-run parties without internal democracy. “Our party is the only solution in this situation,” he opined.

Stating that BJP is becoming aggressive in Karnataka, he said that BJP the saffron party will overthrow the Congress government in the state in near future. “The BJP supporters are increasing in Karnataka. Those supporters will be converted as voters,” he said.

Mr Rao said that a majority of voters who supported Narendra Modi led party in last Lok Sabha elections were youths. “We believe in youth power. We are highly focused on youth power of non-BJP ruled states like Karnataka and West Bengal,” he said.

Mangaluru, Dec 20: City Police Commissioner Sudheer Kumar Reddy has issued a high-alert warning to vehicle owners regarding a surge in cyber fraud targeting those looking to pay traffic violation fines. Fraudsters are reportedly exploiting recent government discount schemes on traffic penalties to deceive citizens.

The Scam: How Fraudsters Strike

Criminals are using SMS, WhatsApp, and social media to circulate suspicious links and APK files (Android application packages). They claim these apps allow users to pay e-challans at a discount.

•    Device Hacking: Downloading these unauthorized apps gives hackers full access to the victim's smartphone.

•    Financial Theft: Once the phone is compromised, fraudsters intercept OTPs and personal data to drain bank accounts.

•    Phishing Sites: Fake websites mimicking official portals are also being used to harvest banking credentials.

Already, two residents within Mangaluru city limits have reported significant financial losses after falling victim to these fraudulent apps.
