According to sources within the party, the BJP has expelled its state executive committee member Srikar Prabhu for six months following a recommendation from DK district unit.
Another controversial leader and senior advocate P P Hegde has also been removed from BJP National Security Cell and relieved from all responsibilities of the party.
The development comes close on the heels of Dakshina Kananda MP Nalin Kumar Kateel lodging a complaint against Mr Hegde for collecting former's cell phone details during the run up to the polls.
It is learnt that Karnataka state BJP president Prahlad Joshi took the final decision after going through a letter sent from district unit of the party.
However, the party did not specify the anti-party activity carried out by Mr Prabhu and Mr Hegde.
