BJP leader openly threatens Moradabad SSP for acting against party workers

Moradabad, Jul 12: In a shocking statement a BJP leader has openly threatened senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Moradabad and his family members. BJP state president Laxmikant Bajpai on Saturday accused SSP Dharamvir of working only for chief minister Akhilesh and Samajwadi Party. SSP Moradabad had accused BJP of fanning communal tension for political benefits. Now, BJP leaders allege that their workers were harassed and were wrongly framed.

urday and lashed out at SSP. “This animosity with SSP will continue for years and we will not forget the treatment meted out to us," he said. "SSP should not forget that SP government would last only for three more years, and we will wait for the right time," he added.

BJP ne unhe(SSP Moradabad) naagin ki tarah aankh mein utar liya hai,dushmani duur tak nibhayenge, he said.

BJP claims that police officers have leveled false charges against party workers on behest of state government. “We will continue our struggle and will strike at the right time," threatened Laxmikant Bajpai.

Samajwadi Party has condemned BJP leader Bajpai for outburst against Moradabad SSP.

"Court will decide not the BJP that who was responsible for Kanth violence," said SP leader Rajendra Chaudhary.

Earlier, BJP's Sultanpur MP Varun Gandhi also met BJP workers in Moradabad on Friday. He alleged that situation in UP is far worse than emergency and home minister would be apprised of the developments soon.

On July 4, BJP protesters had clashed with Moradabad police for detaining party MLAs including Muzzaffarnagar riots accused Sangeet Som while they were on their way to a Mahapanchayat. Communal tension erupted in Kanth when loudspeaker from a temple was forcefully taken off. BJP leaders called a 'mahapanchayat' to register their protest, but swift police action managed to contain the tension.

Udupi, Dec 15: What was meant to be a post-pilgrimage gathering turned tragic in Padukere village of Brahmavar taluk, Udupi district, late Sunday night, when a clash among youths escalated into a fatal assault, leaving one man dead.

The victim has been identified as 30-year-old Santosh Mogaveera, a resident of Padukere.

According to preliminary information, the incident took place during a late-night drinking party involving a group of local youths who had recently returned after completing their pilgrimage to the Sabarimala shrine. An argument reportedly broke out among the group and soon escalated into a violent confrontation.

During the ensuing brawl, Santosh Mogaveera was allegedly assaulted and collapsed at the spot after sustaining serious injuries. He was rushed by local residents to a private hospital in Brahmavar, where doctors declared him dead.

On receiving information, senior police officials, including Brahmavar Circle Inspector Gopikrishna, Kota Police Sub-Inspector Praveen Kumar T, Station ASI Manthesh Jabagoudar, and head constables Pradeep and Ashok, visited the spot and conducted an inspection.

Police have taken four youths into custody in connection with the incident. A case has been registered at the Kota police station, and further investigation is underway to ascertain the exact sequence of events leading to the death.
