Mangaluru, May 19: To maintain law and order in the city, in view of the vote of confidence being sought by Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa on Saturday, Police Commissioner Vipul Kumar has clamped prohibitory orders.

The prohibitory orders under Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code will be in place between 8 a.m. of Saturday and 10 a.m. of Sunday under the limits of Mangaluru city police commissionerate.
No protests, demonstrations and celebrations can be held during the period. The top cop has taken the measures in the wake of untoward incidents during BJP’s victory rallies in different parts of Dakshina Kannada earlier this week.
