Mangaluru, May 18: Former minister U T Khader has urged the Bharatiya Janata Party leaders and activists not to unleash hatred while celebrating their victory in recent Karnataka assembly polls.
Responding to the reports of untoward incidents such as stone pelting on houses and places of worship belonging to minorities during victory celebrations of BJP in different parts of Dakshina Kannada, Mr Khader said that the police should take necessary steps to prevent such incidents.
“It is not wrong to celebrate victory. But, one should not unleash violence and hatred in the name of celebration. Let the people of all communities live together in peace,” he said.
The Mangaluru MLA also urged the common people of all the communities not to pay heed to rumours that are being spread on social media to disrupt peace. “Let us be united and uphold communal amity,” he said.
