Mysuru, Dec 2: The district police have served a notice on Seeren, a software engineer based in the United States of America, for her suspected involvement in the child trafficking case cracked by the police recently.

Superintendent of Police Ravi D Channannavar told reporters on Thursday that a notice has been served on Seeren as she failed to respond to directives to hand over the baby.
The district police had busted a child trafficking racket in November and arrested 11 people in connection with the case. Police rescued 16 children and produced the suspects before the Child Welfare Committee.
Their statements would be considered as evidence under Section 164 of the Code Of Criminal Procedure the SP said. The police have identified mothers of six children but are looking for a few more documents to confirm the identity of biological mothers. A DNA test will determine if the women are the biological mothers of the children, the SP said. In two cases, the gang had sold newborn babies after convincing the biological parents that their babies were stillborn, he said.
