“The day after we issued a request in the media, we have received a huge response from students and parents. We got a lot of calls as well. The information is very useful and crucial at this juncture,” DIG (CID)?Sonia Narang said on Friday.

The CID's eight-member team of investigators is looking at the leak from different angels. The Department of Pre-University Education (DPUE) has 186 strongrooms and more than 1,000 examination centres across Karnataka. The CID sleuths will visit each and every place to understand the entire process involved in transport, storage and supply of question papers.?“It's an enormous task considering the huge numbers and hence may take us some time to arrive at the conclusion,” Narang said.

At the same time, the CID is investigating the possible involvement of those who had leaked II PUC question papers in 2012 and private tutors. “A few private tutors connived with officials in the past to leak SSLC and PUC question papers.”

“We cannot rule out the involvement of such elements. So, the CID is investigating from that angle too,” a senior police officer said.

Narang denied reports of raids on private tutorials in Tumakuru and Kolar on Friday. “We haven't raided any place or office yet, nor have we detained anybody. We had a detailed discussion with DPUE officials on Thursday. We are yet to question anybody,” she said. According her, the top priority is to trace the source of leakage and act as per the law.

People can share any confidential information with the CID through the following facilities: Phone/WhatsApp: +919480800123, +919480800123, e-mail: [email protected]. The information should not be shared on Facebook and Twitter.
