Abhishek MR, nephew of Union law minister DV Sadananda Gowda's wife, is alleged to have initiated fisticuffs with bouncers and staff in an upscale sports bar in JP Nagar recently over he and his friend being asked to leave the premises at closing time.

Abhishek, who was then playing snooker, got into a verbal tiff, following which he assaulted the bouncer. However, Abhishek refuted all allegations and said that he was attacked by the pub authorities instead.

A native of Mysuru, Abhishek's mother Prema is sister of Sadananda Gowda's wife Datty. Abhishek is a financial analyst who owns a brokerage firm, while his friend, Hitesh, owns a construction company in Bengaluru. Sadananda Gowda admitted that Abhishek was the son of his wife's sister.

The CCTV footage of the January 2 incident showed a visibly inebriated Abhishek raising his hand first and slapping one of the bouncers. The bouncer was seen restraining himself and requesting Abhishek and his friend, Hitesh, to leave the premises. After another round of slap, the bouncer is seen forcibly evicting the duo with the help of other staff members.
