Mangaluru, Feb 20: Sporadic incidents of violence were reported from parts of Dakshina Kannada during Saturday's election for Zilla and Taluk panchayats in the coastal district.

A clash broke out between the workers of Congress party and Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader Jagadish Shenava at a polling station set up in Addoor Government Higher Primary School which comes under Gurupura constituency of DK zilla panchayat.
It is learnt that the unwarranted visit by Mr Shenava to the polling station enraged the local Congress workers.
At the entrance gate of the school Addoor Gram Panchayat member and Congress worker Ashraf requested Mr Shenava not to disrupt the peace. However, Mr Shenava reportedly abused the Congress worker and warned them.
Meanwhile, unidentified miscreants pelt stones at Mr Shenava's car parked near the polling station.
In a separate incident, a clash broke out between the activists of two parties at a polling station near Pudu village. Police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.
