Mangalore, Jun 26: The case of scrap dealer Abdul Rashid who was found dead under mysterious circumstances at Thannirbavi beach last week, took a different turn on Tuesday, after police interrogated his family members.

Investigating the case of Rashid's death, police personnel paid a visit to his house at Moidin Nagar in Kudroli late night on Tuesday and conducted interrogation of his family members.

Suspecting the hand of Rashid's wife Naseema in his death, it is alleged that she had arranged for her husband to be murdered at home and then transported and dumped his body at Thannirbavi beach.

Sources said that Naseema and Rashid quarrelled frequently due to Naseema's illegitimate affair with a youth. It was presumed that she had planned her husband's murder because of her grudge against him and had conspired with the youth to get rid of Rashid.

It is said that the police investigation revealed blood stains in the bedroom of the house. While sources say that four persons had been arrested in connection with the case, the police have not yet confirmed the arrests. The police also refused to divulge any details.

Rashid was a resident of Kudroli and worked as a scrap dealer in Central Market. His dead body was found at the beach on Friday with heavy injuries on his head.

Panambur police had registered a case of unnatural death. The investigation team probing the case is led by sub-inspector Bharathi.
