The deceased has been identified as Naveen Udaya Kumar (53), a resident of Haribadavana near Madoor. He was a swimming instructor at Prestige School, here.

The reckless car caused a traffic pileup wherein three vehicles were damaged and it also led to congestion on the busy highway.

The car was reportedly heading towards Kasaragod from Mangaluru. According to eye-witnesses, the speeding Innova car first hit the road divider at Adka near Kotekar and jumped to other side of the road.

The driver of the car completely lost control over his vehicle and rammed into a motorbike throwing its rider, Naveen on to the road.

In the melee, a route 42 bus which was also at high speed rammed into the Naveen and his motorbike killing him on the spot.

The injured passengers of the car were shifted to a nearby hospital. The dead body was sent for post mortem. A case has been registered at Ullal police station.
