Another Bajrang Dal activist arrested for setting bus ablaze to create tension

Mangaluru, Aug 18: Dakshina Kannada district police have arrested another Bajrang Dal activist on the charge of setting ablaze a KSRTC bus in Nellikatte village in Puttur on November 12, 2015.

The arrested has been identified as Prajwal (27), a resident of Nekkila in Bannur, Puttur taluk. With this the total number of arrests in this case mounted to two.

Earlier this month police had arrested Jayanth K P. Both of them are Bajrang Dal activists and engaged in aluminum fabrication work in Puttur.

The police said that the duo heard of the death of Kuttappa in Madikeri while returning from work. In the night, Jayanth and Prajwal thought of creating tension and set ablaze the KSRTC bus parked in a private bus station.

The Puttur Town police said that Jayanth and Prajwal heard of the death of Hindutva activist Kuttappa in Madikeri while returning from work.

From him, the police got to know that Prajwal, who was already nabbed Sullia Police in connection with an attempt to murder case, was the other person involved in the incident.

Prajwal was later handed over to Puttur police, who arrested him in connection with November 12 incident too.

Wife and son kill the father... not realising their existence was from them in the first place.
Y cant these BD, VHP guys be active in giving awareness on such issues to prevent more losses, infighting and suicides rather than creating evil in the society.

Mangaluru: Public transport in Mangaluru is set for a state-led transformation as the government moves to deploy 100 new electric govt buses to replace unreliable private services. The initiative aims to provide a dependable alternative to private operators who have been frequently "cutting trips," leaving thousands of commuters stranded.

The announcement was made by Deputy Commissioner and MCC Administrator Darshan HV during a public phone-in session. The move specifically targets routes where private bus service has become erratic, ensuring that citizens no longer have to rely on a fluctuating private sector for their daily commute.

Restoring the Govt Presence

The transport crisis was brought to the forefront by Ramayya, a resident of Bajal, who highlighted a growing trend of private buses skipping morning and night trips. With the previous KSRTC (govt) services discontinued, residents have been left without a fallback option.

To fix this, the DC confirmed that the PM-eBus Sewa Scheme will bring 100 government-owned electric buses to the city:

• Phased Deployment: The first 50 of the new 100 government buses are scheduled to arrive by March 2026.

• State Infrastructure: Two new government depots, including one at Mudipu, are being prepared for operations.

• Recruitment: The state has already begun training a new batch of government bus drivers to ensure the fleet is operational the moment it arrives.
