Mr Bava said that he had given a thrust to the development of roads in the last two years. The roads that had remained neglected in the Ganjimutt, Edapadavu, Ullaibettu and Neermarga areas have been developed, he added.

“A fisheries jetty will come up at Kulai at an estimated cost of Rs 197 crore. Thirty percent of the total amount will be shared by the NMPT, 40 per cent by the Department of Agriculture and the remaining 30 per cent by the Department of Shipping,” said the legislator.

The MLA said that a crematorium which remained locked for the last 17 years has been provided modern facilities and will be inaugurated shortly.

“I have asked the transport minister to extend the services of a KSRTC bus – sanctioned under Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JnNURM) – to Ulaibettu from Vamanjoor. A report on the pollution in his constituency will be submitted by the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board within a month,” said Bava.
