Malappuram, Nov 22: Police have reported nabbed four persons in connection with last week's cold-blooded murder of a 30-year-old man in Kerala, who had embraced Islam in Saudi Arabia nearly eight months ago.

faisal
Anil Kumar alias Faisal (30), who had returned from Saudi Arabia recently to his hometown Kodinhi in Kerala on a vacation was hacked to death by suspected Hindutva extremists on November 19 at Farook Nagar in Kodinhi near here. The mutilated body was found in a pool of blood on the street at 5 a.m. by the local residents.

According to police sources, the miscreants decided to murder Faisal after he ignored their warnings and refused to go back to Hindu dharma. He had his scalp almost slit open possibly by some sharp-edged weapons and his internal organs gouged out by the assailants.

Faisal was supposed to fly back to Saudi Arabia on November 20. It is learnt that he had reportedly left home in the wee hours of Saturday to pick up the parents of his wife, who were to arrive at Tirur railway station from Thiruvananthapuram, before villagers found his body just in front of a grocery shop.

Fate of a Da'ee

Neighbours said he had received death threats from his family members, who have close links with saffron groups. Nearly a month ago a local Muslim cleric had suggested Faisal, that he should seek protection from the community. However, the youth had turned down the suggestion, saying, “After embracing Islam, I have entrusted everything to Allah (God). If they want to kill me, let them”.

Sources said Faisal appeared to have been targeted not only for embracing Islam but for encouraging his family members, relatives and neighbours to do so.

Faisal, who belonged to an upper-caste Hindu Nair family, accepted Islam while he was in Riyadh only after a prolonged study. After he came home in August, his wife Priya (now Jesni) and three children, all below 10, also embraced Islam.

Local sources in the Muslim community said Faisal wanted his mother Meenakshi to convert too. “Since he was to leave for Saudi Arabia on Sunday, he asked a local Muslim leader to make arrangements for mother's conversion,'' sources said.

Police sources said Faisal wasn't the first in the family to convert to Islam – years ago, his uncle and wife and their two daughters took on the new faith. The uncle's family continues to live in the district. “Many others in our family had converted earlier. Why only my son was targeted,'' asks Faisal's mother, Meenakshi.

A Muslimby choice'

At their home in Kodinji, Faisal's father Krishnan Nair said, “He became a Muslim by choice. No one compelled him. It was his decision. But he was not allowed to live.'' Nair, however, added that some of their relatives were not happy about Faisal's conversion.

While Faisal's parents, who work as daily-wage labourers, live in their ancestral home, he lived with his wife and children in a rented house nearby and took care of his parents too.

A Muslim neighbour of the Nairs too said Faisal's relatives were upset about his conversion. “After he reached home in August, they protested and threatened to attack him. But Faisal did not take it seriously. He wanted Priya and their three children to convert. Priya stood by her husband's decision, despite the threat from relatives,” the neighbour said, adding that “Faisal wanted to take his wife and children to Saudi at a later stage”.

This world is a heaven for the non believers. and hell for the believers..
The most important thing is its just TEMPORARY... everything will be PERISHED... Even the killers and oppressor will be PERISHED one day...

The real LIFE of ETERNITY starts thereafter.. Where non believers will have their HELL and the believers will have the HEAVEN ...
U know WHAT ... That is not temporary IT IS PeRMANENT...

Know your CREATOR 'ALLAH' and read QURAN ... it the best manual for MANKIND to get the peace here and hereafter... which many killers and non muslims not AWARE of ..

Killers should read it before they even think of killing the innocent... people on EARTH>..

I believe there are so many people who reverted to Islam (The true religion) and afraid to utter it openly, only because they are not given enough security.
Don't we (Muslims) think it is our responsibility to protect our brothers life.

Br. Faisal is murdered only because he revert to Islam.

Mangaluru: Public transport in Mangaluru is set for a state-led transformation as the government moves to deploy 100 new electric govt buses to replace unreliable private services. The initiative aims to provide a dependable alternative to private operators who have been frequently "cutting trips," leaving thousands of commuters stranded.

The announcement was made by Deputy Commissioner and MCC Administrator Darshan HV during a public phone-in session. The move specifically targets routes where private bus service has become erratic, ensuring that citizens no longer have to rely on a fluctuating private sector for their daily commute.

Restoring the Govt Presence

The transport crisis was brought to the forefront by Ramayya, a resident of Bajal, who highlighted a growing trend of private buses skipping morning and night trips. With the previous KSRTC (govt) services discontinued, residents have been left without a fallback option.

To fix this, the DC confirmed that the PM-eBus Sewa Scheme will bring 100 government-owned electric buses to the city:

•    Phased Deployment: The first 50 of the new 100 government buses are scheduled to arrive by March 2026.

•    State Infrastructure: Two new government depots, including one at Mudipu, are being prepared for operations.

•    Recruitment: The state has already begun training a new batch of government bus drivers to ensure the fleet is operational the moment it arrives.

Mangaluru: In a decisive move to tackle the city’s deteriorating sanitation infrastructure, the Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) has announced a massive ₹1,200 crore action plan to overhaul its underground drainage (UGD) network.

The initiative, spearheaded by Deputy Commissioner and MCC Administrator Darshan HV, aims to bridge "missing links" in the current system that have left residents grappling with overflowing sewage and environmental hazards.

The Breaking Point

The announcement follows a high-intensity phone-in session on Thursday, where the DC was flooded with grievances from frustrated citizens. Residents, including Savithri from Yekkur, described a harrowing reality: raw sewage from apartments leaking into stormwater drains, creating a "permanent stink" and turning residential zones into mosquito breeding grounds.

"We are facing immense difficulties due to the stench and the health risks. Local officials have remained silent until now," one resident reported during the session.

The Strategy: A Six-Year Vision

DC Darshan HV confirmed that the proposed plan is not a temporary patch but a comprehensive six-year roadmap designed to accommodate Mangaluru’s projected population growth. Key highlights of the plan include:

•    Infrastructure Expansion: Laying additional pipelines to connect older neighborhoods to the main grid.

•    STP Crackdown: Stricter enforcement of Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) regulations. While new apartments are required to have functional STPs, many older buildings lack them entirely, and several newer units are reportedly non-functional.

•    Budgetary Push: The plan has already been discussed with the district in-charge minister and the Secretary of the Urban Development Department. It is slated for formal presentation in the upcoming state budget.
